Timeline hands you six moments from a footballer's career in the wrong order and asks you to put them right. Knowing the events is rarely the problem; knowing which came first is. It is a test of how well you have actually filed a career away rather than just recognising its highlights.

Timeline strategy

Anchor on the events you are certain about and build outwards, rather than trying to order all six at once. Youth moves and senior debuts are almost always the earliest entries, and retirement or a testimonial the latest, so the ends are usually free. The difficulty lives in the middle — two transfers or two trophies within a couple of seasons of each other. When you genuinely cannot separate two events, place them adjacent in your best guess: if you are wrong, you are wrong by one position rather than scrambling the whole sequence.
